Turpin, Boulder to wild-card at Miller

Shane Turpin will wild-card aboard a Boulder Ducati 1098R for the sixth round of the World Superbike Championship at Miller Motorsports Park.
The World Superbike Championship grid at Miller Motorsports Park will be bolstered by a single wild-card entry from Boulder Motorsports rider Shane Turpin.

Turpin has been racing competitively since the 1990s and regularly rides in the Utah Sport Bike Association Masters of the Mountains series at Miller Motorsports Park, while he has also enjoyed top ten finishes at AMA Superbike and Supersport level.

Indeed, having established a career as a riding instructor for the Yamaha Champions Riding School based at the Utah circuit, Turpin is considered something of an expert at Miller Motorsports Park, knowledge he will look to capitalise on when he lines up aboard a Boulder Motorsport-prepared Ducati 1098R.

“I am extremely excited and honored to have been accepted as a Wild Card entry in the FIM Superbike World Championship event at Miller Motorsports Park,” says Turpin. “ It's my home track, where I've completed countless laps and have great track knowledge.

“I've been racing with the Boulder Motor Sports team for three years now, and I feel at home with the entire group. They're a great team who continue to provide me with the expertise and equipment to ride my best.

"We began our testing back in late February and continue to make improvements in preparation for the Memorial Day event. I look forward to representing our sponsors, families, friends and my country.”

I have personally raced with (not against cause he'd lap me. Twice.) Shane Turpin, and he is one of the nicest, quickest, and good guys I've ever come across, on or off the track. If anyone has any question whether he deserves this shot, all you have to do is meet him to answer that question. End of story.
