Haslam eyes Misano fight back

Leon Haslam targets a return to the podium at Misano as he looks to bounce back from a disappointing weekend in he United States.
Leon Haslam is keen to be challenging at the front of the World Superbike field again at Misano after a lacklustre weekend in the United States cooled his title aspirations.

The Briton was beset with a series of issues aboard the BMW at Miller Motorsports Park, culminating in him qualifying 13th and finishing just tenth and eighth in the two races. Coupled to his 15th place finish at Donington Park after a controversial clash on the final corner, Haslam has slipped 57.5 points adrift of leader Max Biaggi in the overall standings.

Nonetheless, Haslam feels his pace at Misano twelve months ago bodes well for what he hopes will be a victory challenge this weekend

“I am looking forward to Misano and to making amends for the USA round. I really like the track and I can't wait to be fighting at the front again. Misano is a circuit I really enjoy and where our RR goes quite well. The characteristics of the track suit our bike.

“Already last year, two podium places were in reach for us. However, I had a really bad crash when I was in a podium position in race one. In race two I finished inside the top five despite a broken ankle.”
