Davide Giugliano will get a second attempt to challenge for the eni World Superbike Championship podium from the front row after complementing his Miller Motorsports Park achievement with an identical qualifying result at Misano.
The local rider has featured in the upper echelons of the timesheets throughout the weekend and would proceed to peak in Superpole as he squeezed onto the front row, in turn qualifying as the top Ducati rider.
Bringing some smiles to the Althea Racing team, which had earlier seen lead rider Carlos Checa
consigned to 16th on the grid, Giugliano is delighted to have shown well under pressure once again.
“It's the second time this season that I'll start from the front row and I'm very happy with that. I prefer not to say too much because anything can happen in the races but I will say that I feel that I am growing little by little and that we have taken a good result here today.
“I knew we would be able to do well here at Misano and to start from the front row is the first step. This doesn't mean that we can relax as we still have everything to do tomorrow but I am feeling confident.”
