Marco Melandri is confident he can get his World Superbike Championship title aspirations back on track at Motorland Aragon after a successful test at the Spanish venue.
The Italian was making headway into the championship lead after wins at Donington Park and Miller Motorsports Park, but a fourth place and a DNF last time out at Misano have set him back in his quest to hunt down rival Max Biaggi.
Nonetheless, the BMW rider feels he has a good platform from which to progress at Motorland Aragon next week having completed a full day's running around the circuit
“It was a good day,” said Melandri, who took a win and a second place at Aragon with Yamaha last season. “We have been working very hard and we almost completed our programme. Actually we missed some runs due to previous day's rain, but we could more or less do all what we had planned. I am happy with the race rhythm. I think we found some good solutions.
“I don't know how the weather will be next week, but overall I am confident for the race here in Aragón. We did a good job preparing for next week.”
