Haslam 'positive' ahead of Silverstone return

Leon Haslam is seeking a return to form at Silverstone having struggled for consistent results since his last outing on home soil at Donington Park.
Leon Haslam is confident he can get back to the front of the World Superbike Championship field on home soil at Silverstone having now discarded his 'two bogey circuits'.

The British rider has endured an indifferent run of form in recent rounds and has only cracked the top five in two of the last ten races, while BMW team-mate Marco Melandri has manoeuvred himself into the title fight having won five races in that same period.

Nonetheless, Haslam – who is still seeking his first win for BMW – is pleased to be returning to familiar ground at Silverstone, the 2010 runner-up confident it can signal an upturn in fortune for him.

“I am very positive about the weekend. Silverstone is synonymous with racing back in England, but is also means that we have left the two bogey circuits behind us. The last couple of rounds have been tough but I feel that we took important steps and can now get back to normal and to winning ways.

“There is no better place to do that than at my home race. Silverstone is very flowing and one of the fastest circuits in the calendar. It is very technical and has some real high-speed corners. That makes for good racing.”
