Camier determined to improved qualifying

Leon Camier is hoping the British round of the World Superbike Championship will signal a turnaround in his qualifying fortunes.
Leon Camier has once again identified Superpole as the key to securing a strong World Superbike result on home soil at Silverstone having often seen race pace blunted by a low starting position this season.

The Briton has endured a difficult first year with the FIXI Crescent Suzuki team, but showed what was possible from a second row starting position at Donington Park with a run to a season's best of fourth.

Since then, however, Camier has not qualified higher than 13th, an area he is desperate to improve upon if he wants a chance to replicate the strong form he has shown at Silverstone in recent years.

“It's always fun to race at home and I'll be doing my best to get good results with my FIXI Crescent Suzuki GSX-R,” he said. “I qualified on the front row of the grid last year and I will be aiming to do the same again this year, though first I have to have a good Superpole!

“The bike has definitely improved recently and I'm hoping that it will suit Silverstone and we can all have a good weekend. It would be good to get good results at Silverstone and say thank you to all our fans at home.”
