Sylvain Guintoli says there is 'more to come' from himself and the PATA Ducati team after notching up a front row start on his first Superpole outing with his new employers.
The Frenchman, who has switched to the PATA team after parting ways with Effenbert Liberty Ducati, has rarely featured outside the top five throughout the weekend thus far, Guintoli adapting quickly to his new surroundings.
Even the onset of rain during Superpole wouldn't unsettle him as he eased into SP2 before going on to set the third fastest time behind former team-mate Jakub Smrz and Leon Camier. A fine start to his new relationship with PATA Racing, Guintoli was delighted to be competitive from the off.
“I'm really happy because it's not easy when you're put in a new situation like this one,” he admitted. “From the start of the weekend me and the team have got on really well, we've been tweaking stuff like in winter testing!
“I'm having fun with Pata and I've found a good home with which to finish the season. Obviously this is the first step, but there's plenty more performance to come.”
