John Hopkins has old confidence back

'My confidence has come back and I'm happy pushing the bike hard again... I've been so much happier recently' - John Hopkins
American John Hopkins hopes to carry some new-found momentum into this weekend's first ever World Superbike race meeting in Russia.

Hopkins is much happier on the FIXI Crescent Suzuki and feels the team is heading in the right direction with the set-up of his GSX-R1000.

He was 10th fastest in the opening test at the Moscow International Raceway this morning as competitors took the chance to gain their first laps of the impressive circuit.

“My confidence has come back and I'm happy pushing the bike hard again,” said Hopkins.

“I'm sure I would have had better results if the weather had been consistent in the last round, but that's one thing none of us can plan for.

“I've been so much happier recently and I could do more or less what I wanted to do with my FIXI Crescent Suzuki last time out.

“The bike's going great at the moment and I want to carry on the momentum this coming weekend and get some good results.”

Practice and qualifying proper gets under way on Friday, followed by final qualifying and Superpole on Saturday.

Sunday's two races are scheduled for 25 laps.

The FIXI crescent suzuki has given no positive note for suzuki until today.....also with the help of Yosh or suzuki headquarter. Being positive is always great but doesn't help to get more power on those bikes. It s a real shame to see this team so far away from the top ! We were used to see the suzuki's in front.

Lucky that... "Hopkins is much happier on the FIXI Crescent Suzuki and feels the team is heading in the right direction with the set-up of his GSX-R1000." but being to positive isn't the right way to work. Humility and hard work can bring results but not in this way ! Sorry guys... Hope to see Sykes on the podium, twice ...he deserves to win , so many superpoles won. Go Sykes go go go
