The Red Devils Roma Ducati team has announced its plans to expand for the 2013 World Superbike Championship season after securing a sponsorship deal with Italian holding firm General Invest.

The team, formerly known as SS Lazio prior to its graduation from the Superstock 1000 class to World Superbikes this year, debuted General Invest branding last time out in Russia in a nod to the company's interests there.

However, the firm has now decided to back the team for the remaining three rounds of 2012 and over the course of 2013, a move that manager Andrea Petricca believes will allow Red Devils to enter two bikes next year.

Furthermore, a press release from the team confirmed Red Devils are currently in negotiations with Ducati over the supply of its new 1199 Panigale. Though the bike is expected to make its WSBK debut next season, as yet no team is committed to running the new Panigale for 2013.

Red Devils Roma Ducati currently run former MotoGP rider Niccolo Canepa in the Superbike class, the Italian picking up his best finish of the season at the Moscow Raceway with a run to seventh place. The team also enters a bike in the Superstock 1000 category for Polish racer Andrzej Chmielewski.
