Biaggi pinning hopes of set-up tweaks

Max Biaggi airs his frustration at being unable to make the front row at Portimao, despite setting the pace in Q2 and FP2.
Max Biaggi is hoping tweaks to the Aprilia RSV4 during morning warm-up will help him overturn his second row start into a run at victory around Portimao.

The championship leader, who currently heads Marco Melandri by 9.5 points in the overall standings, had looked in good shape for Superpole after topping both Q2 and FP2, but fell short in fifth place when it mattered.

Frustrated to be out-qualified by both Melandri and outsider title contender Tom Sykes, Biaggi admits he isn't entirely happy with the set-up on his machine. Nonetheless, he feels it won't take much to get it working how he wants.

“I'm a bit disappointed about not making it to the front row, it was a goal which was within our reach. In view of the races we aren't far off. I have a few things in mind to try and be more incisive that we'll test tomorrow during warm-ups.

“I'm still not 100 per cent satisfied with the set-up and, considering the circumstances, we need to get the absolute maximum out of our bike.”
