Davies makes BMW debut at Jerez

Chaz Davies rides BMW S1000RR WSBK machine at Jerez
Race-winning 2012 World Superbike rookie Chaz Davies made his S1000RR debut during the start of a two-day test session with BMW Italia at Jerez.

Davies, the 2011 World Supersport champion, posted this picture on his official Twitter page (@ChazDavies) with the comment: "Good 1st impressions on the BMW in Jerez. Damp patches this morning and now raining so not ideal but good 2 ride again!"

Davies, who spent his debut WSBK season on a ParkinGO MTC Aprilia, will ride alongside Marco Melandri at BMW Italia next year.

BMW Italia has morphed into the 'official' S1000RR squad after the closure of the factory team. Follow Chaz on Twitter for the latest updates.

Hope Ayrton Badovini finds a ride for next year.....its not fair that he has been booted out, especially as Fabrizio has managed to find himself an RSV4!

Chaz is a great rider and I think he is one of the best all round rider we've seen for a while. He's won many races in Britain (125cc against Casey Stoner) over seas in the US and of course on the world stage. He has surprised me this year and I think he can learn a lot from Marco Melandri this year and be very competitive.
