Rain brings 2012 season to a damp conclusion

No more World Superbike action will take place until January 15th 2013 at the earliest after testing concludes at Jerez.
The 2012 World Superbike Championship season has been brought to a premature conclusion after wet weather during the final day of testing at Jerez prompted both Ducati and BMW to finish early.

Aprilia, Kawasaki, Honda, BMW and Ducati were all present at Jerez over five days, though only BMW and Ducati were on track on Thursday and Friday.

However, with cold and damp conditions making their presence felt throughout Friday's session, BMW GoldBet Italia, Alstare Ducati, MR Ducati and the Superstock Barni Ducati team decided to sit out the day and leave early.

The World Superbike winter testing ban will now take effect from 1st December until 15th January 2013, with the first pre-season testing action set to take place towards the end of January.

The first round of the 2013 World Superbike Championship season will take place at Phillip Island in Australia on 24th February.
