QUIZ: 2012 World Superbikes Review

Enjoyed the 2012 World Superbikes season? Been glued to the action for every race? Then here's your chance to relive the year and show off how much you know by CLICKING HERE for our season review quiz
The World Superbikes 2012 season could scarcely have been any closer, with Max Biaggi pipping Tom Sykes to the title by an incredible half point margin after a hard-fought season that stretched from Australia to France.

Biaggi got off to a winning start at Phillip Island in February, and proved difficult to dislodge from the top of the championship standings for the rest of the year. Early on, the strongest competition appeared to be from Carlos Checa and Marco Melandri, but as the season progressed it was Britain's Tom Sykes who emerged as the main threat to Biaggi's second WSBK title and who pushed the Italian all the way to the season finale at Magny-Cours in France in October.

Would the outcome have been any different if we hadn't lost a race in May when torrential rain forced the cancellation of the first race in Monza and the curtailing of the second race to less than half distance? Maybe, maybe not. And in any case, surely few people will begrudge Biaggi a final championship before he heads into retirement?

That's just some of the WSBK action from 2012. The season went by so fast it's easy to forget some of the details, so we thought we'd fulfil a public service by recapping some of the events from the season just finished in the form of a 12-question quiz to jog your memory and tease you with some of the lesser-known facts and figures of the year. As it's a test of your knowledge and powers of recollection rather than your Internet searching skills, try not to succumb to the temptation of trawling through Google, Wikipedia or even Crash.net's own news archives if you can - it's just more fun that way.

Ready to start? Then CLICK HERE to take the quiz, and let us know how you did by posting a comment when you're done.
