The World Superbike Championship could be on the verge of confirming a 14-round calendar for the 2013 season with the anticipated Brno round being dropped from the schedule.

The Czech venue wasn't originally named on the provisional calendar when it was announced in October, but was still expected to assume a 23rd June date slot, which was listed as 'TBA' at the time.

Unusually, with the start of the 2013 season at Phillip Island now just six weeks away, the FIM hasn't formally announced the dates for the upcoming year, though is reporting that Brno won't be included and the 'TBA' date will be scrapped altogether.

Adding to the speculation, the WSBK calendar published on the FIM website makes no mention of Brno or the previous 'TBA' date, with 14 events set to make up the season once again.

After a nine-year hiatus, Brno returned to World Superbikes in 2005, where it has established itself as a firm favourite with its sweeping turns and undulations.

Should the FIM confirm that Brno will not appear on the 2013 schedule, it will join Miller Motorsports Park and Misano in losing its WSBK event. Buddh, Jerez and Laguna Seca take their places.
