Wind hampers new-spec Suzuki engine test

19 January 2013

Leon Camier is looking ahead to the next World Superbike pre-season test after high winds at Almeria prevented FIXI Crescent Suzuki from fully testing its much anticipated new-specification engine.

Having spent a day getting reacquainted with the Suzuki GSX-R1000 around the Spanish circuit, Camier was due to sample the new Yoshimura engine on the second day of the test, but while he did manage to get some laps under his belt, the poor weather conditions prevented him from securing any meaningful data.

Despite this, Camier is feeling positive about the revised bike and is looking forward to going up against his rivals at a more comprehensive test at Jerez next week.

"The weather today was awful; because it was so windy it made it difficult to do anything really meaningful. We managed to get a few jobs done and although we tried the new-spec engine, we couldn't really understand the differences because of the conditions.

“I am now looking forward to Jerez and carrying on from the progress we have made here during these two days and trying out the 2013 engine properly."
