Aprilia has formally launched its 2013 World Superbike Championship campaign with Eugene Laverty and new signing Sylvain Guintoli charged with defending Max Biaggi's title.

Laverty enters into his second season with the Italian manufacturer after a positive maiden campaign in 2012 yielded a win at Portimao and sixth in the standings, while three-time WSBK race winner Guintoli comes on board in place of reigning champion Biaggi, the Italian having decided to retire in the wake of his second title.

Visually, the 2013-specification RSV4 differs little from its predecessor in terms of livery, with the familiar black and red design interspersed with subtle flashes of the Italian flag tricolore. Additionally, the RSV4 also sports the headlights that are compulsory for all Superbikes this year.

Aprilia is the last of the six manufacturer-assisted teams to reveal its livery for the 2013 season, with only Red Devils Roma and Althea Racing still yet to show its colours following the switch from Ducati to Aprilia machinery.
