PICS: 2013 World Superbike contenders

Following the official 2013 launch of Alstare Ducati and Aprilia Racing, we want to know how you think the World Superbike grid is looking ahead of the opening round...
The 2013 World Superbike Championship grid may not be bursting in terms of numbers compared with previous years, but few are doubting the quality of those that will be lining up in two weeks' time for the opening round of the season in Australia.

Prior to the curtain raiser, the teams will be in action for the first – and only – official pre-season test at Phillip Island on Feb 18-19, though some will also be out for an 'unofficial' two days of track time on Feb 14-15.

In the meantime, the bikes are currently making their way to Australia from their European bases, with nearly each of the 19 contenders having been unveiled.

Of the manufacturer-sponsored teams, livery changes have been kept to a relative minimum with Aprilia and Kawasaki retaining a similar design to that of last season. Fixi Crescent Suzuki's machine is also recognisable, save for a few more welcome sponsors, while BMW will adopt the distinctive livery of GoldBet in a nod to its decision to back the former 'Italia' team.

Honda, meanwhile, reflects its new title backing from Pata with the Italian company's prominent logos, even if it differs little from the design of Pata's three years sponsoring/running Aprilia and Ducati teams.

Meanwhile, in celebration of its new collaboration with Alstare and the launch of the 1199 Panigale, Ducati takes on a sleek red and white design in-keeping with its iconic image.

Of the privateer bikes, Max Neukirchner's MR Racing Panigale will also compete in 'Ducati Red', while Grillini's new Dentalmatic-backed BMW has undergone a turquoise and white makeover.

As yet, Red Devils Roma Aprilia, Althea Aprilia, HTM BMW and Pedercini Kawasaki haven't formally revealed their bikes for 2013, though the latter is expected to retain its familiar green design.

But we want to know what you think? Which is your favourite looking Superbike for 2013 and what do you make of the decision to introduce headlights…?

Perhaps there is a particular WSBK livery design that you miss…?

If you're undecided about this year's contenders, take a look at the gallery below and let us know what you think in the comments section…
