Baz regaining confidence at Phillip Island

Baz: It was not so easy at the beginning of this test because I crashed in the previous one and it was not easy to get my confidence back.
Loris Baz says he was taking things easy during official pre-season testing at Phillip Island after a sizeable accident at the same circuit last week resulted in a loss of confidence.

Baz joined Kawasaki team-mate Tom Sykes on the sidelines after crashing during 'unofficial' testing last week, the Frenchman avoiding serious injury but suffering a knock to his confidence.

Intentionally riding 'under the limit', Baz was only 15th fastest by the end of the test, but is confident he will be more competitive when the all-important race weekend gets underway

“It was not so easy at the beginning of this test because I crashed in the previous one and it was not easy to get my confidence back, so I was riding really under the limit. It is really important to be free with the bike and let it go in the corners.

“Then we managed to find something, more with me then the bike I think, and we improved a lot. That was really positive. I think we are going to be OK and even improve again on Friday.”
