WSBK Aragon 2013: Guintoli eager to get back on track

Sylvain Guintoli is eager to get back on track at Motorland Aragon as he looks to build on his superb maiden outing with Aprilia in Australia.
Sylvain Guintoli says he is 'ready for the fight' ahead of the second round of the 2013 World Superbike Championship at Motorland Aragon, seven weeks after his race-winning debut outing with Aprilia.

The Frenchman kicked off his career as a factory Aprilia rider in style with a formidable victory at the Phillip Island season opener, the former MotoGP rider going to claim a further podium to place him level with team-mate Eugene Laverty at the top of the standings.

Lamenting the lengthy gap between races, Guintoli admits he is itching to get back on track to prove he can maintain his flying start to the year.

“I'm very happy to be back on my Aprilia RSV4 after such a long gap since the Australian race. It felt like another winter break! Weather in the UK has not been the best, so I went to Spain to step up my physical training. Now I'm ready for the fight and looking forward to the action.”

I agree with Sylvain that the large gap between races is ridiculous. It reminds me of the gap in AMA where they have the opener in Daytona then 2 or more months pass before the next race. While the WSB gap isn't as bad it's still annoying and I can see from a racer's point of view being fustrating. Nevertheless, it should be a great season. I hope that BeIn sport will show the race free online again as SpeedTv(NascarTV) dropped the ball and didn't pick up the series what complete mor-ons.
