Factory Aprilia rider Eugene Laverty hopes to banish memories of his double DNF at Aragon as he looks towards the third round of the World Superbike Championship this weekend at Assen.

Laverty achieved his maiden podium finish on the RSV4 at the legendary Dutch circuit last year and is confident he can challenge for his second victory of the campaign after opening his 2013 account at Phillip Island in Australia in February.

The Northern Irishman, however, expects strong opposition from Kawasaki and BMW at Assen and is also wary of the Pata Honda credentials of Jonathan Rea and Leon Haslam.
