World Superbike Championship leader Sylvain Guintoli is aiming to maintain his ultra-consistent start to the 2013 campaign at Assen this weekend.
Guintoli commenced his title quest with a victory and runner-up finish at Phillip Island and enhanced his position at the top of the points table at Aragon last time out, twice finishing second on the factory RSV4.
Understandably, the French rider is bristling with confidence as he prepares for round three of the series at a track where Guintoli has excelled in the past.
“We come to Assen leading the championship and with growing confidence,” he said.
“In Aragon, I had to face my demons! Together with my team, we worked hard and manage to get two great results.
“Assen is a place with many great memories. I had my first world stage podium (with Aprilia) in 250 back in 2003 and also my first WSBK victory last year.
“I am excited to race again on this fantastic track and to enjoy once again the RSV4.”
