Carlos Checa will take no further part in the fourth round of the 2013 World Superbike Championship at Monza after being advised against putting further stress on his injured shoulder.

The Spaniard came into the event revealing he is suffering with an osseous edema on his humerus, but having arrived at Monza with the intention of racing, he found himself struggling for fitness after the first day free practice.

With the inflammation on his shoulder getting worse overnight, Checa has been advised to recuperate for the next two weeks with a view to returning to action at Donington Park.
