Checa back in action at Donington Park

'I've been working hard to get back to full fitness and have carried on with the treatments recommended to me by the specialists' - Carlos Checa
Alstare Ducati's Carlos Checa is feeling 'much stronger' ahead of this weekend's fifth round of the World Superbike Championship at Donington Park in England after being ruled out at Monza.

Checa missed both races last time out at the Italian circuit due to an osseous edema to the humerus of his left shoulder.

However, the Spaniard has made good progress and is now ready for a return to action at a circuit where he was a winner in 2011.

“Having been forced to sit out of the Monza races I'm really looking forward to being back on the bike at Donington,” he said.

“I've been working hard to get back to full fitness and have carried on with the treatments recommended to me by the specialists.

"I'm feeling much stronger and am optimistic ahead of the next races.”

Checa also missed a test last week at Mugello in Italy, where Ayrton Badovini and Niccolo Canepa – who will ride as a wildcard entry for Alstare Ducati at Donington – experimented with new traction control settings on the Panigale 1199R.
