Chaz Davies is hoping he can put a couple of difficult events behind him at Portimao this weeend as he looks to rediscover the form that has already seen him win two races this season.

The Welshman looked set to mount a title challenge following a dominant double win at Aragon in April, but subsequent difficult events at Assen, Monza and Donington Park have seen him slip back to fifth position in the standings.

Now 61 points behind leader Sylvain Guintoli, BMW GoldBet Motorrad rider Davies is nonetheless confident he can get his season back on track at one of his favourite venues.

"I am looking forward to the weekend. The first priority is not to encounter some of the issues we had at the last couple of races. Then my plan is to qualify well and to push for a podium."
