Portimao: Davies: Qualify well and push for a podium

Chaz Davies is looking forward to Portimao as he bids to get his World Superbike title hopes heading in the right direction.
Chaz Davies is hoping he can put a couple of difficult events behind him at Portimao this weeend as he looks to rediscover the form that has already seen him win two races this season.

The Welshman looked set to mount a title challenge following a dominant double win at Aragon in April, but subsequent difficult events at Assen, Monza and Donington Park have seen him slip back to fifth position in the standings.

Now 61 points behind leader Sylvain Guintoli, BMW GoldBet Motorrad rider Davies is nonetheless confident he can get his season back on track at one of his favourite venues.

“Portimão is a great circuit. Because of its character, it is one of my favourite tracks. It is difficult to find the right set-up but I always enjoy riding there and I have been competitive there in the past. It is fun as it has a lot of elevation changes, and some of them are quite steep.

“I am looking forward to the weekend. The first priority is not to encounter some of the issues we had at the last couple of races. Then my plan is to qualify well and to push for a podium.”

Go get'em Chaz just start pressuring Marco a little and he will break, he couldnt take the heat against Sykes and Max last year. Portimao should be a good track as he will be able muscle that beamer around and force his way forward.

Not a chance for the title this year Chaz maybe if you keep your ride plus you're to hit and miss with being fast enough, you've always have been like this. Marco is the BMW favorite.
