British WSBK: Laverty pinning hopes on dry races at Silverstone

Eugene Laverty is hoping a pair of dry races will give him the best chance of closing down his rivals in the overall standings.
Following his dramatic exit from the last round in Russia, Eugene Laverty is hoping the weather will prove rather less inclement at Silverstone this weekend as he looks to boost his flagging title hopes.

The Irishman was in contention for a podium at the Moscow Raceway when he slipped on the increasingly treacherous circuit, Laverty barrelling out of the race into another costly DNF.

Now 49 points adrift of the championship lead, currently held by Aprilia team-mate Sylvain Guintoli, Laverty is hoping a return to favourite territory will help turn things around.

"I really enjoy Silverstone, it's a long lap and the fast flowing nature of the circuit makes it one of my favourites. Weather played havoc with the previous round in Moscow and so it would be nice if we could have two dry races on Sunday."

What do you mean by SOME results. I would call eight podiums, four of them race wins Some results. He would most likely have another race win if it wasnt for engine failure while he was well ahead. Probably not the season he wanted or expected, but I doubt he will be too upset that you wont listen to him based on his results so far.

Come on Norge you've had some bad luck but outright pace you're the man. Just bring home consistency really is the key at the momentjust focus on beating Guinters cause he's doing a Max and just walking away with the championship while everyone else falls off pushing to hard.
