Young French rider Loris Baz hopes to build on his Silverstone victory as the World Superbike Championship resumes at the Nurburgring in Germany this weekend.

Baz's triumph at the British track prior to the summer break was the promising 20-year-old's fifth rostrum result in 37 WSBK race starts as he grows in stature on the Kawasaki ZX-10R.

Currently holding sixth position in the championship reckoning, Baz is tied on 180 points with BMW's Chaz Davies, who is classified in fifth based on his higher number of race wins this season.

Brimming with confidence following his Silverstone exploits, Baz is relishing this weekend's race at the Nurburgring.

"After the win at Silverstone my confidence is really good. Races like Assen and Silverstone went really well but we knew that some other tracks in the season would not be the best for me," he said.

"Now, after Silverstone, there are only good tracks coming for me. I like the Nurburgring and I have shown in the past few races that I can ride well in different conditions.

"I would like it to be dry, but if it is wet it is no problem for me."
