World Superbike Championship leader Sylvain Guintoli says he is 'ready' to take the title battle to his rivals this weekend at the Nurburgring.

Guintoli has used the summer break to recover from a dislocated shoulder, which he sustained prior to the Moscow round of the championship following an accident on his bicycle.

The Aprilia rider leads the standings by 13 points from Kawasaki's Tom Sykes and with give rounds of the championship remaining, Guintoli is focused on strengthening his grip on the world crown.

The German venue has been a happy hunting ground for the RSV4, with Max Biaggi and Chaz Davies taking a win apiece in 2012 as Aprilia filled five out of the six rostrum places up for grabs over the two races.

Guintoli said: "After three weeks off the bike and concentrating my energy on recovering as much as possible from the shoulder injury, I feel ready to take up the championship fight in the final five rounds.

"This is the final straight line to the end of the season and I am excited to see how much progress the shoulder has made. The answer will be Sunday."
