Local interest in the World Superbike Championship's return to Laguna Seca is set to be bolstered by the planned appearance of Roger Lee Hayden and Danny Eslick as wild-cards.

Competing in the domestic AMA Superbike series under former NBA star Michael Jordan's eponymous team, Hayden and Eslick are currently classified fourth and fifth respectively ahead of the final round, which will be held on the WSBK support bill.

With the opportunity to get some additional mileage in, Michael Jordan Motorsports has subsequently entered the pair on their Suzuki GSX-R1000s into the World Superbike Championship race.

They will join fellow American racer and former AMA rival Blake Young, who has been called up to replace the injured Leon Camier at Fixi Crescent Suzuki, while Australian racer Glen Allerton has also signed up for a wild-card appearance on the Next-Gen BMW S1000RR.

The weekend will herald a return to WSBK competition for Hayden - younger brother MotoGP rider Nicky -, who completed a full season with Pedercini Kawasaki in 2010, though it will be a debut WSBK appearance for Eslick.
