Injured Camier sets sights on Jerez comeback

'He is now... back home in Andorra to begin a full recovery process in a bid to be fit for the last race of the season in October' - Fixi Crescent Suzuki statement
British star Leon Camier is aiming for a return from injury at the final World Superbike round at Jerez in Spain next month.

The Fixi Crescent Suzuki rider suffered a huge accident at Istanbul Park in Turkey and injured his right foot, breaking seven bones.

An update on his progress issued by the team said: “[Leon] Camier was initially released from hospital following a successful operation, but due to an adverse reaction to the anaesthetic, he was re-admitted and spent a number of days recuperating in the Anadolu Hospital in Istanbul.

“He is now out of the facility and is back home in Andorra to begin a full recovery process in a bid to be fit for the last race of the season in October.”

Camier has been replaced in the team for this weekend's 12th round of the series at Laguna Seca by American rider Blake Young, who partners Jules Cluzel on the GSX-R1000.
