Pata Honda's Jonathan Rea returned to action during a two-day test last week at Motorland Aragon in Spain for the first time since breaking his femur in a crash at the Nurburgring in September.

Rea missed the final four rounds of the World Superbike Championship as a result of the injury and hopes his fitness will have improved further ahead of next week's final test at Jerez prior to the onset of the winter ban.

The 26-year-old focused on developing the electronics system on the Fireblade and a variety of chassis settings at Aragon along with team-mate Leon Haslam.

Rea said: "We worked a lot on electronics to give me confidence to ride how I want. We also tried some chassis set-ups around the 2014-spec Ohlins front forks, which were interesting.

"I'm satisfied with our work and I enjoyed riding a lot. Now I'm looking forward to another test at Jerez where I hope my physical condition can be a little stronger than it has been here."

Rea finished ninth overall in the championship standings, taking a victory at Silverstone in August.
