Pedercini Kawasaki confirms Scassa, Andreozzi for WSBK

Pedercini Kawasaki confirms Luca Scassa and Alessandro Andreozzi as its riders for the 2014 World Superbike Championship.
Pedercini Kawasaki has announced an all-Italian rider line-up for the 2014 World Superbike Championship, with Luca Scassa and Alessandro Andreozzi set to compete in the new EVO class.

A stalwart of the WSBK paddock, the family-run Pedercini team has competed as a satellite entry every year since 1998, but will take the opportunity to switch to the new EVO class this season with a rider line-up that, while new for 2014, is nonetheless familiar to the team.

Having made his full-time WSBK debut with Pedercini Kawasaki in 2009, Scassa returns with a wealth of experience under his belt having competed at Superbike and Supersport level in recent years, while he also made his MotoGP debut last season with Cardion AB Motoracing.

A race winner at World Supersport level, Scassa returns to Pedercini Kawasaki having been a regular WSBK top ten contender in 2010 aboard a Ducati.

Andreozzi, meanwhile, steps up to Superbike competition after a year with Pedercini in the Superstock 1000 class. The 22-year-old finished ninth overall in 2013 with a best finish of fourth place and joins Sylvain Barrier, Niccolo Canepa and Jeremy Guarnoni in progress to the Superbike ranks.

Pedercini Kawasaki's confirmation further bolsters an already healthy-looking grid to at least 23 riders, though as many as 27 full-time riders are tipped to compete in 2014, with at least ten-to-twelve riders targeting the inaugural EVO title.
