Pole man Sylvain Guintoli has consolidated his status as the man to beat heading into the opening round of the 2014 World Superbike Championship as he paced morning warm-up.
The Frenchman, who smashed the lap record
en route to only his third career WSBK pole position yesterday, impressed again in warm-up with his time of 1min 30.610secs.
Alex Lowes was just over a tenth adrift in second position, the British rider impressing despite suffering with a dislocated ankle
, while Ducati front row sitter Davide Giugliano and Kawasaki's Loriz Baz made it four different bikes inside the top four.
Behind them, Eugene Laverty completed the top five on the sister Suzuki, ahead of Leon Haslam and Toni Elias, the latter posting his fastest lap of the week thus far having qualified down in 13th position.
Recovering from his crash in Superpole, Tom Sykes was eighth best, with Jonathan Rea and Marco Melandri completing the top ten. Althea Ducati's Niccolo Canepa maintained his status as the leading EVO rider in 11th, a tenth up on David Salom.
