Davide Giugliano gave the clearest indication yet that Ducati is capable of establishing itself as a front-running World Superbike manufacturer once more after a lap record showing during private testing at Jerez.

One of five manufacturers to test in Spain, together with Aprilia, Kawasaki, Honda and Suzuki, Giugliano was in impressive form during both days, getting his lap time to a 1min 40.0secs - quick enough to unofficially break the lap record.

Though the third and final day was washed out due to rain, Giugliano was delighted to be so fast from the off and is confident there is more to come.
