Defending World Superbike Champion Tom Sykes says he feels the Kawasaki Racing Team is 'heading in the right direction' after a productive private test at Jerez.

The 2013 WSBK champion came to Spain looking to make progress on the Kawasaki ZX-10R following a fairly disappointing start to the season in Australia.

Focusing on mileage rather than fast times (Sykes ran without a transponder on the second and third days), the British rider was satisfied with the progress made, particularly on the wet final day.
