The latest draft of the 2014 World Superbike Championship has been released with the confirmation that Russia has been removed from the schedule and Qatar is set to host the season finale.

Prior to the second WSBK round at Motorland Aragon this weekend, Russia was scheduled to host the 11th event of the season on 21st September, while the 'overseas' final round was simply listed as 'TBC'.

However, with the news that the Russian WSBK round has been canned as a consequence of political issues between the country and neighbouring Ukraine, the revised calendar has also for the first time signalled that the final round will be at Losail International Circuit

Though this is still listed as 'TBC' and has been rumoured for some time, it is the first time the venue has been mentioned in any official correspondence.

Should it go ahead, it mark a return to the WSBK calendar for Qatar, which last hosted a round in 2009.

It will also be the first WSBK finale not to be held on European soil in 15 years, when Sugo in Japan brought the curtain down on the 1999 season.
