Leon Camier marked his return to the World Superbike Championship with an accomplished EVO class victory for BMW Italia at Motorland Aragon.

Drafted in as a replacement for the injured Sylvain Barrier, Camier is expected to ride for the team for the next four events, the British rider doing his chances of securing a long-term seat no harm at all by scoring a class 'pole position' and victory at his first attempt.

Finishing 12th overall in both races, Camier was delighted to be up to speed straight away having come into the weekend with barely any preparation time on the BMW S1000RR.

"I am pleased with race one. I was the first of the riders in my class and this is undoubtedly a good thing. In race two we had some problems, but overall the bike worked well and I was faster than the other riders in the EVO class.

"In the last laps I made some small mistakes that made me lose ground, but apart from the result, our potential is very high. If we can solve the problems that slowed us down in race two, we can be very competitive. I am happy to be part of this team and to be able to ride this bike. We just have to continue on this path and the results will come."
