WSBK Imola: Laverty refocuses after ‘worst day of career’

Suzuki's Eugene Laverty refuses to dwell on his disastrous Assen race day as he looks to bounce back during round four of WSBK at Imola.
Voltcom Crescent Suzuki rider Eugene Laverty says his attention is firmly set on a return to form ahead of the fourth World Superbike Championship round at Imola, after what he describes as the 'worst' race day in his long career in Assen.

A race winner during the opening round of the season at Phillip Island, Laverty endured frustrating weekend at Motorland Aragon before crashes in both races at Assen left him without a single point to his name in the Netherlands. you

Indeed, Laverty – who had expected a strong result around the Dutch circuit – goes as far as to say it was the worst race day of his career, but says he is confident he can bounce back to the podium in Italy.

"Race day in Assen was perhaps the worst day of my career but it's important to move on and focus on the next round. We made a big step with our Voltcom Crescent Suzuki GSX-R from Round Two to Round Three so I'm confident that with a bit of luck we'll be fighting for the podium this weekend in Imola.

“Unfortunately we've slipped down the order in the championship following a double non-score in Assen so we've got some catching up to do, but I'm looking forward to the challenge."

This was one similar wasn't it Jimmy ? At least one of the races was wet this time round. I feel EuLav is an underrated rider but regardless of the bike he's riding, he just doesn't have the luxury of having a weekend like this. On a side note, i want one of them berets :p
