Fabrizio leaves Grillini, Staring to replace

Bryan Staring will join the World Superbike Championship from Donington Park with Grillini Kawasaki as Michel Fabrizio exits.
Bryan Staring is to step up to the World Superbike Championship from the next round at Donington Park after being drafted in to replace Michel Fabrizio in the IRON BRAIN Grillini Kawasaki team.

It emerged over the WSBK event at Imola that Fabrizio was set to part ways with the team following the weekend, with rumours suggesting Staring was being lined up to replace the Italian.

Staring has now confirmed as much on Twitter, with the Australian saying he will be seeing out the season the EVO specification Kawasaki ZX-10R.

The move will see Staring – who started the 2014 season in the World Supersport Championship with a one-off outing on the Rivamoto Honda - make his full-time WSBK debut from Donington Park, the former MotoGP rider having completed a handful of wild-card outings in recent years.

It is not known whether Fabrizio, the most experienced rider on the WSBK grid, will be heading elsewhere, the Italian marking his Grillini swansong with a double DNF.

Great to see Staring in wsbk (biased Aussie opinion btw). Wish he had of done another year in superstock as he would've had a good shot at that championship last year against Barrier as that motogp crt gig was just a waste of a season imo. He knows the bike ok so heres hoping he does a good job. Hard to guage the level of Aussie talent but at least theres guys taking the risks. Gotta tip your hat to them at least.
