Alex Lowes says he is confident of challenging towards the front of the World Superbike Championship field at Donington Park, which is located just a short distance from his home.

The Voltcom Crescent Suzuki rider scored his best result of the season - a second place - on recognisable soil in Assen, but Donington Park remains the most familiar venue for him on the 2014 WSBK calendar.

With this in mind, Lowes is confident his prior knowledge of the circuit, where he was a double winner at BSB level in 2013, will see him hit the ground running this weekend.

"I'm really looking forward to Donington this weekend. It's only 10 minutes from home for me and having previous knowledge of the track is going to help me get straight down to work from Friday morning which will ensure I get my Voltcom Crescent Suzuki working well, ready to challenge at the front on Sunday.

"Donington has always been a favourite of mine and I have great memories from 2013 so I'm eager to put on a good show for the fans as part of the only British-based team in the World Championship this year."
