Marco Melandri says he has set himself the target of 'redeeming' himself during round five of the World Superbike Championship following a lacklustre start to his tenure at Aprilia.

Considered a title favourite at the start of the year, Melandri has struggled to get comfortable on the RSV4 and has thus far accumulated just two podiums - compared with team-mate Sylvain Guintoli's four, including two wins.

Already 55 points off the top of the overall standings, Melandri admits he has been riding 'below his potential' in the opening rounds, but is eager to make amends at Donington Park, scene of his first WSBK wins for Yamaha in 2011 and BMW in 2012.
