Sylvain Guintoli is heading to Sepang with high hopes that he can utilise the 'raw power' of his Aprilia RSV4 as he looks to regain ground in the fight for the 2014 World Superbike Championship title race.

The Frenchman endured a mixed weekend last time out at Donington Park, his run to the podium in race two tempered by an error in the first race that left him in seventh.

As a result, Guintoli is fourth in the standings, 37 points adrift of the overall lead, a margin he is determined to recover in Sepang where he expects his Aprilia RSV4 to go well.

"Finally a track where we will be able to use the raw power of the RSV4. Sepang is a great track, wide, fast and I know it very well from my GP days. I have just completed 7 days of training in Borneo with similar heat and humidity so the very hot and tropical conditions won't be a problem. Can't wait.
