Sylvain Guintoli remains the firm favourite for pole position heading into qualifying for the sixth round of the 2014 World Superbike Championship at Sepang after topping FP4.
Quickest in FP2 and FP3 already, Guintoli's name continues to head up the timesheets heading into Superpole around the Malaysian circuit, his time of 2min 04.398secs down on his earlier benchmark but still four tenths up on the competition.
Marco Melandri made it an Aprilia Racing 1-2 in second place, with Kawasaki's WSBK championship leader Tom Sykes the only rider to get close to the RSV4s in third place, just ahead of Toni Elias on the privateer Red Devils machine.
Loris Baz completed the top five, ahead of Davide Giugliano, Chaz Davies, Jonathan Rea, Eugene Laverty and Alex Lowes, the latter preparing to go in SP1 after just missing the top ten cut in FP3.
Incidents during the session included falls for Leon Haslam, Leon Camier and Romain Lanusse.
