Alex Lowes suffered a difficult second day of qualifying in Misano as he struggled to eleventh place in Saturday's 15 minute session.

Having set a more than promising sixth fastest time on Friday at a circuit he had never ridden, Lowes made several changes to his Voltcom Crescent Suzuki for Saturday morning as he looked to progress up the leader-board.

With eleventh the result of those changes in Saturday morning's FP3 Lowes reverted back to Friday's settings for Superpole but his final time of 1min 36.489secs was only good enough for eleventh, 1.6secs off Tom Sykes' pole effort.

Maintaining he is feeling no side effects from the first race melee that claimed him, Loris Baz and Tom Sykes in Sepang two weeks ago, Lowes is adamant he can return and fight for a pair of strong finishes in Sunday's races.

"It's been a difficult day today and we haven't qualified where we need to be but I'm really enjoying the Misano circuit," he said. "We have some work to do overnight before the two races and hopefully I can come back on the Suzuki GSX-R and fight for a good result tomorrow."
