Riccardo Russo has been promoted to the Pedercini Kawasaki Superbike after Luca Scassa opted to sit out the remainder of the World Superbike event at Portimao.

Scassa was set to make his first WSBK appearance since Imola this weekend after two months out recovering from an injury sustained during testing for a one-off MotoGP ride, but after taking part in FP1, he has decided he needs further recuperation.

As such, his bike will be ridden by Russo for the remainder of the weekend, the Italian having ridden the bike to the points on his debut last time out at Misano.
