WSBK Laguna Seca: Sykes ‘excited’ to be heading back to Laguna

A repeat of his results in 2013 would see Tom Sykes and Kawasaki take a healthy lead into the upcoming two-month summer break.
Tom Sykes says he is looking forward to returning to the Laguna Seca circuit after a win at last year's round marked a significant step towards his run to the World Superbike Championship title.

Occurring earlier than last year's September-scheduled event, this year's round occurs ahead of the summer break and comes as Sykes looks to further extend a lead that grew to 43 points last time out in Portimao.

A race winner in California last year, Sykes is hoping a similar result will send him into the two month break with added confidence.

“We had some success last year at Laguna. It was my first time there and we won race one but we had some issues in race two. These have been addressed since then, so I am very excited to be going back. I enjoy America, the way of life over there, the great circuit at Laguna, and I cannot wait to get going again.

“There will be no change of strategy and I hope we will be blessed with some sunshine. I am already looking forward to getting going there.”

@ Wintax FFS, seriously? The guy makes one comment about a circuit he's not a fan of, and now you're gonna try pull him apart at every race about it? (PS. He still won race one mate...). If he had finished low down the order in both races, THEN complained, it would be a different story. Why are riders not entitled to their opinions?
