Baz prepared for Laguna Seca bow

10 July 2014

Loris Baz is hoping his good form at Portimao will prove a positive indication of his form at Laguna Seca as he prepares to make his first visit to the Californian circuit.

A back injury ruled Baz out of last year's event – which returned to the WSBK calendar for the first time in nine years in 2013 -, the young Frenchman thus destined to be on the initial back foot as he learns his way around the iconic venue.

Despite this, Baz is excited about the prospect of tackling Laguna Seca and is confident the similar characteristics of the undulating Portimao circuit puts him in good stead for his bow.

“We have America next, just a few days after Portimao,” said Baz, who was a podium winner in Portugal. “It is going to be cool because it is the first time I have been to Laguna Seca and I cannot wait to see the track. I know it is amazing already. I have to learn the layout but I sure it will not be a big problem.

“I am sure we are going to make something good there because it seems more or less like Portimao, up and down, and we have found some positive things for this kind of track. I am sure I am going to like Laguna Seca.”
