The Frenchman came off on the exit of the final corner, Barrier getting caught up in the bike as he went down and striking the pit barrier hard with his feet.

Left stricken on the circuit, Barrier was eventually stretchered into an ambulance and taken to the medical centre, where he was diagnosed with a fracture of the subtalar joint, which is located in the foot.
