Davies back in action after Laguna crash

Ducati's Chaz Davies gets back to action after his race day-ending accident at Laguna Seca with a test at Portimao.
Chaz Davies says he feels confident ahead of the final four rounds for the 2014 World Superbike Championship after returning to testing action at Portimao.

The Ducati rider suffered a heavy crash in the first WSBK race at Laguna Seca earlier this month, sustaining a bump to the head that would subsequently rule him out of the second race too.

Though still feeling the effects from his accident, Davies was pleased to be back on the Ducati 1199 Panigale at Portimao, the Welshman confident he can come back stronger with a bike that can challenge for its first WSBK win.

“This testing session has been useful, although I am still not quite feeling 100% after the crash at Laguna. Anyway, we've got a lot of work done, especially in the afternoon when conditions were difficult due to the heat.

“We have definitely collected a lot of useful data that will help us as we prepare for the last part of the season. We can now head into the summer break and have chance to recharge our batteries so that we are able to come back in September with the determination to finish the 2014 season in the best possible way.”
