Sylvain Guintoli says he would like to remain with Aprilia Racing in the World Superbike Championship in 2015, but says it is too early to begin negotiations.

The Frenchman joined Aprilia at the start of the 2013 WSBK season and swiftly established himself as a title contender, his strong results subsequently triggering a clause in his contract that ensured he would remain with the manufacturer for a second season in 2014.

Mounting a title tilt with Aprilia in 2013, despite scoring just a single race win, Guintoli is once again in the title hunt for 2014, albeit 44 points behind Tom Sykes in second place with four rounds remaining.

Looking forward, Guintoli says he would like to remain with Aprilia for the foreseeable future, but is focused on this year's championship for the time being.

"This year is the last year of my contract and it's really too early to talk about next year. Ideally though I'd like to stay at Aprilia because me and the team get on so well and there is such a good understanding there.

"But for me it's still all about this season and we're still getting faster so we've got a good shot at the title. There are very small differences between the front runners and we're still there."

Guintoli also touched on the speculation that Aprilia's burgeoning MotoGP plans could be brought forward, but insists nothing has been decided as yet.

"Honestly nothing has been confirmed," he confirmed. "For sure Aprilia has the will to go back to MotoGP soon, or it could be very soon, but for now nothing has been confirmed and that also goes for WSBK."

Sykes and Rea are the best SBK riders at the moment but Sykes is the best combo of man and machine his shenanigans with Baz cost him some brownie points with the fans but he is by far the best SBK rider and bike combo capable of becoming the best SBK rider in history.[\blockquote]

Hardly think Sykes is in the same class as Foggy or Bayliss so the comment about becoming the best SBK rider in history is flakey.
The Sykes / Kawasaki package is the best combination around right now though & you can only race against what turns up on the grid.
